Project Repat
Ever wonder what happens to all those leftover tees on the racks at places like Goodwill and the Salvation Army? Turns out 95% of them travel to countries like Kenya, Haiti and Tanzania where they’re sold by middlemen to secondhand markets. But what if those local communities completed the circle and sold them back to us (with a twist)?
Project Repat is redesigning the future of millions of these shirts, working with local artisans in Nairobi to convert them into unique accessories and even repatriate ironic originals back to the US. Best part is, the proceeds are all donated to the artists in these Kenyan communities.
Snag your vintage repatriated tee or check out the Kickstarter campaign to get first dibs on one of the newly designed circle scarves, skirts, or bags. Talk about weaving a new future in style. #winning
